MM31 Attracts Local, National Attention

When our team designed MM31, code for Midwest Modern on 31st Place in Tulsa, we knew the home’s sculptural quality made it something special. Others agree. The residence now is garnering local and national praise.

The Eastern Oklahoma American Institute of Architects awarded us with a 2018 Excellence in Design Award of Merit for MM31.

Oklahoma Magazine featured the home in its February 2019 Life & Styles section and in its October 2018 annual Kitchen and Baths feature. Both the kitchen and master bath in MM31 are an extension of the overall home design – functional, well-built, modern and easy on the eyes.

We are especially honored that Dwell magazine also recently featured the home on its website. It has received over 500 “likes” – not bad for an Okie firm!

MM31 is the first of a series of modern homes we are designing in Midtown Tulsa in collaboration with Austin Lee LLC, the contractor and developer. Austin Lee’s attention to detail, peerless oversight and love of modern architecture makes them our ideal partner in this venture.

Midwest Modern is the moniker of our brand of modern design especially suited to Oklahoma and the surrounding region. Our design responds to the area’s own unique climate, geography, culture, building materials and construction technologies to represent this era in our history.

That timelessly defines the truest and best of architecture: A physical manifestation of the conditions and elements that makes each place unique, in and of the time in which it is built.

At Freese Architecture, we aspire to create homes and buildings that are the truest architecture of this place we call home in Oklahoma.
